Join Revs. Simon Mainwaring and Natosha Reid Rice in conversation with Pearl Cleage, nationally renowned playwright, award-winning author, performance artist, and Playwright in Residence at the Alliance Theater here in Atlanta. Pearl has written three novels, two books of essays, and over a dozen plays including Flyin’ West, which was the most produced play in the country upon its release. As a performance artist, Pearl has performed sold out shows alongside her husband, Zaron W. Burnett, Jr., at both the National Black Theater Festival and the National Black Arts Festival. Pearl, Simon and Natosha will explore how the arts and faith intersect with the shaping of culture. The conversation will be broadcast live to Facebook and Vimeo on Sunday, November 8, at 9:00 a.m. ET.
