[CANCELLED] Brexit, Northern Ireland, and Nationalism in our Own Backyard
Sunday, August 08, 2021, 10:20 AM - 11:05 AM
Sunday, 8/8/21 at 10:20am
Sunday August 8 from 10:20-11:05 a.m. in Ellis Hall
UPDATE: Gary emailed on the morning of July 26 to say it is unlikely he will be able to fly to the US for this event. We are canceling the event for now, but will provide another update if he is able to travel to the US.
We are delighted to welcome back Gary Mason as our preacher-teacher to explore the dynamics of Brexit in his native Northern Ireland and how the dynamics of life across the pond might speak to our own confrontation of nationalism. More broadly we will ask what a faithful Christian vision of a global and plural society should look like.
Gary is the founder of Rethinking Conflict, a UK based non-profit social enterprise working in the field of conflict transformation, peace building and reconciliation. Prior to founding Rethinking Conflict, Gary spent 28 years as a clergy person in Belfast and was involved in the peace process.
