Scott Lamlein
Director of Music
Scott Lamlein has been our Director of Music since May 2024. He plays the landmark 2004 John-Paul Buzard organ of 85 ranks, has primary directorship of the semi-professional adult choir, and oversight of a multi-age music program involving over 100 people, teaming up with Associate Director of Music Justin Maxey and newly-appointed Director of Children and Youth Music Emily Halbert. Before coming to All Saints', Scott served for ten years as Director of Music at St. John's Episcopal Church, West Hartford, Connecticut, where he was artistic director of the Music at the Red Door concert series, which presents major concerts, monthly Pipes Alive! organ recitals and choral evensong services. Scott spearheaded the formation of a new non-profit to fund the church's summer Kids' Community Music Camp, providing basic musical education and community to children in need. The St. John's RSCM choir school and adult choir together grew to 45 members during his tenure. Active as an organ instructor for over 25 years, he was adjunct faculty at the Hartt School and at Holyoke Community College, where he specialized in organ education for pianists. As a concert organist, Scott has performed in the United States, Canada, and Europe, with appearances at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in South Carolina, Methuen Memorial Music Hall, the Überlinger Münster in Germany, St. Thomas Church, New York, and St-Sulpice, Paris. Scott’s concerts have been broadcast in South Carolina, Boston and Worcester, and on the nationally-syndicated radio show, Pipedreams.
