Dear saints,

This weekend, our wilderness wanderings through Lent reach their climax as we journey with Jesus on Palm Sunday into Jerusalem proclaiming 'Hosanna'. In its biblical Hebrew origins, the word Hosanna literally means 'please, save'. There is not a week in the life of our world when those words don't hold a certain poignancy. What of hosanna did school children and their teachers cry out at Covenant School, Nashville TN? What cries of hosanna have been heard across war-torn Ukraine, or in communities in eastern Turkey? Palm Sunday is a reminder that the story we proclaim is God's story of hope for a world that does indeed cry out. This Sunday's part of that story sees God move into the city, and into the places of hope and longing we might have for a safer and more just world. It is the story of a God who moves to reach us in our struggle. And we are invited to move too, inclining our hearts and lives to action, trusting that in the end this is God's world and as such we never walk into the life of the city alone. I invite you to join the journey this weekend. Hosanna! The King of Love is on his way.

Peace,

Simon+
