As a wise former senior warden at All Saints’ says to me now and then, ‘leadership matters’. As the person who has the privilege of serving alongside your vestry in this parish, I can attest to how significant lay leadership is in the life of the church. Through the course of this pandemic, the All Saints’ vestry has not only continued to work with me in leading our mission and ministry, they have also engaged in a course of multi-month leadership development to further equip us as a community committed to racial equity and healing. I find the vestry to be joyous, deeply dedicated to our church, and together they possess the wisdom to know how to work well together. They are a gift to me.
Perhaps God is calling on your life to serve the church as a vestry member? Perhaps you know of someone who might be so called? I warmly invite you to prayerfully consider submitting your name or another parishioner's whose blessing you would first seek. We have exciting times ahead of us as a church, and I rejoice that we continue to answer God's call with courage and faith.
Blessings to you as you discern your part in that work.
