As is the Advent theme, the time is at hand, the season of waiting and watching is nearly at its close, and after three decades at All Saints’, Pat Kiley is retiring next week. We will get to Jesus‘ birth in due course, yet we make our journey to the Christ child by ways of the people we know and love. It has always been the most central of Advent’s yearly disciplines—to learn again to see the light of Christ in others. We have seen that light in Pat’s life in so many ways and we will celebrate that fact next week at her retirement party (December 16 at 6:30 p.m. in Ellis Hall). I do hope you can join us.
Keep on waiting and watching faithfully, dear saints. The Word is dwelling all around us in the lives God delights to call God’s own.
