MICAHService and Social Justice

To commemorate the anniversary of the 1906 Atlanta Race Massacre, The MICAH Project is planning a pilgrimage on Saturday, September 24, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The quilt exhibit, "Lives Taken, Lives Remembered," that includes original quilts honoring the thirty-six known African Americans who were victims of the massacre has been cancelled.  We are still hoping that the quilt will be on display at the marker dedication.  We will be meeting at 12:30 p.m. in Sumner Park in East Point to attend the marker dedication remembering Zeb Long, one of the victims murdered during the massacre. The address of the park is 1889 Lexington Avenue, East Point, Georgia 30344. The exact address of the marker is 1835 Warren Way (one of the bordering streets), at the tip of the park. Please contact Jan Kibler at janetkibler58@gmail.com or call her at 404-539-2455 if you are interested or wish additional information.
