“We must be the change we want to see."

What would that require of us? Are we willing to commit to something more encompassing than ”a Christian life” that others deem “acceptable”?  What difference would it make in our lives to be fully committed disciples of Jesus? The All Saints' Adult Formation committee has invited Dr. Luther Smith to engage with us in exploring the dynamics of a faithful life as a lived commitment.

This class offers the opportunity not only to engage ideas about faith, but also put our faith into action. With attention to open-heartedness, we begin to address brokenness within ourselves, our relationships, and our society to start healing process for being a people of beloved community.

About the Instructor:

Dr. Luther Smith is the Candler School of Theology Professor Emeritus of Church and Community, whose current research focuses on the writings and correspondence of Howard Thurman, advocacy on behalf of children, and a spirituality of hope. Dr. Smith is an ordained elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
