Walk the Labyrinth

Sunday, May 1, 4:30-5:30 p.m., Kennedy Courtyard

The Labyrinth at All Saints’ Ministry hosts monthly Sunday afternoon labyrinth walks this spring. Labyrinths are beautiful ancient designs found worldwide, symbolizing pilgrimage journeys, a path to God and the Divine within. Labyrinths are archetypes for our time, blueprints for our soul, and vehicles for embodied meditation. The labyrinth walks take place in Kennedy Courtyard (rain location: Ellis Hall) are accompanied by live music. When planning your visit, please allow approximately 20 minutes for your walk. •

Dear saints,

Happy Easter! This past Sunday, it is fair and reasonable to say, was a lot. A lot of preaching and praying and singing and sitting and standing. A lot of God, I hear my atheist brother say this time of year, with wary concern. Perhaps that is fair enough. The feast of the resurrection, that great story of Jesus rising from the dead that we get to proclaim on Easter Day, is indeed a lot of God, so much so that we keep on repeating the story year after year, looking for another window into this unfathomable mystery. The beauty of the church, though, is that not only do we get a full fifty days to plumb the depths of such a love as God's, we get every life that chooses to dwell with other lives in churches like ours. So come and dwell with one another here this Easter season. Be a living witness to the resurrection life. There's always more of God to go around than we could ever need.

Peace,

Legacy Sunday Interview with Anne-Marie Sparrow
"I made my planned gift to All Saints' decades ago. I have left a specific amount of money to All Saints' in my will. To me, the only way church is going to survive going forward is to have the funds and the people to make a difference in the community. Making a planned gift to All Saints' is the simplest way to make sure this happens after we are gone."
—Anne-Marie Sparrow, All Saints’ parishioner for 40 years

Welcome a New Family to the United States with Refugee Ministries

The first three months after arrival are often very challenging for a newly arrived refugee family. Many families experience isolation, which we can help alleviate by offering much needed hope and support through hospitality and welcome.

Three Opportunities for Fellowship with Refugee Ministries

  • Saturday, April 23: Annual Picnic
Bring a family to play games and have fun outside.

  • Wednesday, April 27: Last Wednesday Night Supper
Enjoy dinner and conversation with our three Iranian American families.

  • Saturday, May 14: Community Dinner at Refuge Coffee
Bring a family to have a lovely and fun outside dinner.

Please contact Louisa Merchant, Director of Refugee Ministries, at louisam@allsaintsatlanta.org if you would like to attend any of these events. We also invite volunteers to help with transportation and food.

Share a Meal with the Men of Covenant Community

In the spirit of this Lenten season, please think about bringing dinner to the men of Covenant Community on a Monday night. Meals can either be shared with the men inside the residence or they can be dropped off sometime during the day. Available dates are: April 4 and 11. Thank you.

Donate Summer Clothing to Threads!

We invite donations of new or gently used children’s clothing for summer; a donation barrel is located in the upper level of the parking garage behind the security booth.

Questions? Contact Lori Guarisco at threads@allsaintsatlanta.org.

Grace Notes
Thank you so much to John Pinkard, Anne Stanford, Kris Birkness and Margaret Daniel for taking three of our new former refugee families to the zoo on Saturday. One of the most healing things that can happen for a newly arrived refugee family is to be offered hospitality and welcome in parts of the city outside of Clarkston.

Are you interested in helping a newly arrived family? Sign up online for a volunteer orientation session or contact Louisa Merchant at louisam@allsaintsatlanta.org.
A tremendous thanks to all who participated in our parish-wide Lenten service project this past Sunday! We give thanks for the vibrant ministries growing through the grace of local partners, Shereetha Jackson, from Church of the Common Ground, as well as Laura DeGroot and Tracy Woodard, from Intown Collaborative Ministries, and All Saints' seminarian, Junmey Wang.

Particular thanks goes to Elizabeth Robertson and Mary Jo and Howard Walker, as well as to the Young Adult Community at All Saints', for their generosity in sponsoring the creation of such blessing bags for neighbors in our city (whose weary feet will be refreshed by these foot care kits, distributed in the weekly clinic administered by Church of the Common Ground).

A big THANK YOU to the Children’s Choir parents who laundered our collection of red choir robes (over 120 in various sizes) so that we looked crisp and clean at Sunday’s Children’s Service.

It was a great group effort and an important contribution to help us feel important and look our best.
