Adult Inquirer's Class at All Saints’

Wednesday, 9/29/21 at 6:30pm

Fall 2021

The Adult Inquirer’s Class is a six-part introduction to the life of faith at All Saints’. Each session explores an aspect of the Christian faith and how that faith is lived out in our parish and in the world.

Wednesdays, September 15, 22, 29 and October 6, 23, and 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET. Meetings are held online on Zoom with the exception of the final session.

Session 1: LEADERSHIP AND THE BAPTIZED LIFE | September 15 on ZOOM

In the Episcopal Church all baptized people are invited to be ministers. This opening session explores how members at All Saints’ are encouraged to exercise their gifts for ministry in the church and in the city.

Session 2: CHRISTIAN IDENTITY AND JUSTICE | September 22 on ZOOM

All Saints’ has long strived to be a community of inclusion and justice. This session will look at our core ministries and our life as a faith community in Atlanta as we seek and serve Christ in all persons.

Session 3: SPIRITUALITY AND EXPRESSING OUR FAITH | September 29 on ZOOM

As a community of prayer we express our faith in worship, through the arts and in how we care for one another. This session thinks about how a myriad of individual spiritual gifts become one body in Christ.

Session 4: A THINKING FAITH | October 6 on ZOOM

In our tradition, we value reason as well as scripture and experience. Life-long learning and formation in the Spirit is valued highly at All Saints’. This session considers the many opportunities for the sacred journey that exist at All Saints’ and how we are called to encourage one another in leading lives marked by faith in our daily lives.

Session 5: CHURCH AS COMMUNITY, CHURCH IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS | October 13 on ZOOM

In a large church like All Saints’, it can be important to find a community within the village of  people who make up our parish. We believe in the centrality of relationship and connection. This session imagines the church as a community on and off our block.

Session 6: THE FIRST FRUITS OF OUR LIVES | October 20 IN-PERSON AT CHURCH

The life of faith shared with others is a life of commitment. In this final session we talk through how we are called to offer the fullness of our lives to the life of the church, and ask how each of us might make our lives count for the sake of God’s kingdom on earth.
