Dear saints,

You have been a sending presence in the larger church for many decades now. Just think of all the rectors and associate rectors whom you have raised up as leaders, now serving across the country. All Saints' has also been part of discernment for many people considering seminary and ordination. If you have considered this odd and wondrous calling and would like to speak with one of the clergy about ordained ministry, we would welcome the chance to join you in discernment. It's the coolest job in the world- rewarding, satisfying, challenging, interesting, occasionally weird, and surprisingly joyful. On a personal note, I'm excited to recruit passionate and creative disciples to lead the church for generations to come.

This Saturday, June 24, we'll have a chance to support three members of our community as they take their ordination vows at 2:00 at St. Philip's Cathedral. Carmie McDonald, Katie Presley, and Jenny McBride will make profound promises to God, and you have been journeying with them for quite some time. They would be honored by your presence.

Of course there is a particular ministry for all the baptized, who promise to "seek and serve Christ in all persons, and to love our neighbors as ourselves." We made a commitment to say, "Yes!" to God's work in all our assorted vocations. In other words, God doesn't just need the professional Christians. God needs you.

We all play a role in God's mission of reconciliation and restoration. May we embrace our many and varied roles, individual and collective, with Gospel joy. After all, we have good news to tell.

Blessings,

,Andy+
