Dear saints,

There is something of a legend in my mother's family that one bitter 1930's winter in the Lake District of England a member of the extended family went from home-to-home visiting neighbors most in need in the village and leaving them each a turkey on Christmas Eve night. I never met 'Gangeye' as we knew him in family folklore, but his story of generosity is a small part of my own story, part of my legacy.

This Sunday, I invite you to join me in a forum conversation in Ellis Hall with Naomi Tutu and Natosha Reid Rice and hear how these two remarkable women have navigated the legacies of their own families and how their lives of ministry have come out of that heritage.

We all have a story worth hearing. Some of our stories are sources of pride and joy, others hold pain and loss, yet each of them is ours. We are formed by them just as we are formed anew within the love of the God wherein all of our stories find their true home. I hope I get the privilege of hearing your story at some point in the future. In the meantime, let us give thanks for the story we share in All Saints'.

Peace,
