A Service of Choral Evensong

In what is becoming an annual tradition, the All Saints' Parish Choir will join forces again this year with the Holy Innocents' Sanctuary Choir for a service of Choral Evensong held at All Saints'. One of the treasures of the Anglican liturgical tradition, Choral Evensong, or sung Evening Prayer, is offered throughout the Anglican world, and in some cathedrals even daily. While there is no communion or sermon, the service features the singing of congregational hymns, psalms, biblical canticles, and other prayers. Sunday's Evensong features a diversity of music by George Dyson, Elaine Hagenberg, and Atlanta-based composer Käthe Wright Kaufman. The Rev. Dr. Simon J. Mainwaring will serve as officiant.
