Sunday, March 20 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Ellis Hall

Join Midtown friends and neighbors for a communal celebration of the Spring Equinox with Sound Healer and Reiki Master, Rebecca Turk.

Participants will embark on a meditative journey of sound that incorporates the calming tones of quartz crystal bowls tuned to the 7-point chakra system, a native drum that mimics the sound of ocean waves, and Koshi chimes tuned to the four elements. Vibrational sound healing has been shown to help reduce stress, promote restful sleep, and relax tension in the body.

As we welcome this new season of life together in Atlanta, we give thanks for the wisdom of Rabbi Joshua Abraham Heschel, who notes how it is "...a grace to be able to give oneself up to music, to a tone, to a song, to a chant... [for] the wave of a song carries the soul to heights which utterable meanings can never reach."

To ensure a relaxing sound bath experience, participants are encouraged to:

  • Dress in layers of clothing well-suited for reclining
  • Bring your own yoga mat for cushioning
  • Bring your own blankets for warmth and comfort
  • Bring your own pillows for lower back and/or head/neck support
  • Bring your favorite eye mask (SNDBath eye masks will be available)

This event is free, but please be sure to register ahead of time to secure your spot for this experience because attendance is limited to 40 people. Feel free to invite your family and friends for this special celebration as we embrace the turning of the seasons!
