| | | Walk the Labyrinth
Walking the twisting path of the labyrinth is a meditative ritual. It can be envisioned as a metaphor reflecting the passage through one’s own life with its recurring corners, which must be encountered one step at a time. |

Dear saints,
Last year I was part of a multi-month learning cohort on money and the church. Not everyone’s idea of a fun time, you might think, but it offered me a precious opportunity to write a letter to my children. The invitation was to articulate for them what money means to me and what it means to me to give it away. It was a surprisingly rich experience. I had never before strung together the experiences in my life that had shaped my relationship to money: from scarcity, to fear, to sacrifice, to the freedom that came in re-ordering my priorities toward giving first. Yet it was more than my story. In the letter I found myself wanting to pass on values that I knew wouldn’t come to them in economics class or by a trip to the shopping mall. I wanted to tell them the gift there is in seeing money as a gift — something that is intended to be given over for others as indeed we are intended to be. In other words, I wanted to tell my children what was on my heart in relation to money. In this season of our generosity, as we recall for one another the stories of how we give courageously, I invite you not only to make your pledge to All Saints’ but to talk to someone else about its significance when you do. Who knows what your story of giving might gift to another? Thank you for all the ways you bless others.
Peace, |

Introducing our New Director of Youth Ministries
We are thrilled to announce that All Saints’ has called Hope Westervelt to be our new Director of Youth Ministries. For the past six years, Hope has served as Director of Youth Ministries at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chattanooga, TN.
Hope grew up in Macon, GA, attending Christ Church and has worked both at Camp Mikell in this diocese and at camp Grace Point in the Diocese of East Tennessee. A graduate of the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, with a major in childhood development, Hope brings a wonderful combination of energy, experience, and organization to her ministry. She is married to Brian, an engineer, and will be joining All Saints’ in January giving time for a smooth transition in her current parish.
Here is a word from Hope to our community: “I am thrilled to be joining all of you at All Saints' as the new Director of Youth Ministries! I am so excited to be back in the Diocese of Atlanta and I am especially excited that I get to work with and build relationships with the youth at All Saints'. There are so many aspects of the All Saints' community that I look forward to being a part of and I can't wait to meet each and every one of you.”
Please pray for Hope and Brian as they prepare for their move to Atlanta. |

Meet Our Seminarians: Rodell Jefferson and Junmey Wang
About Rodell
Rodell is a seminarian at Candler School of Theology. Originally from Detroit, Rodell has also spent time in Providence, Rhode Island, and Los Angeles, California before arriving in Atlanta. When he is not in studies, Rodell enjoys cooking, dancing, taking walks (especially in nature), and anything else that helps him get back into his body. A lover of language, Rodell likes to find poetry in the quiet places and lively conversations of the everyday. If you are ever in need of a calming presence, or someone to wonder with, Rodell is here to be with you.
About Junmey
Junmey is a second-year student of Divinity at Candler School of Theology. Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she is an international student who has spent time in Pennsylvania and California—and is now here in Atlanta! A faithful advocate for—and practitioner of—leisure, you can often find her basking in the sun, and with nature. Junmey also enjoys learning different ways of working with her hands, being with people, making food and eating it in good company. |
