Dear saints,
As a wise former senior warden at All Saints’ says to me now and then, ‘leadership matters’. As the person who has the privilege of serving alongside your vestry in this parish, I can attest to how significant lay leadership is in the life of the church. Through the course of this pandemic, the All Saints’ vestry has not only continued to work with me in leading our mission and ministry, they have also engaged in a course of multi-month leadership development to further equip us as a community committed to racial equity and healing. I find the vestry to be joyous, deeply dedicated to our church, and together they possess the wisdom to know how to work well together. They are a gift to me.
Perhaps God is calling on your life to serve the church as a vestry member? Perhaps you know of someone who might be so called? I warmly invite you to prayerfully consider submitting your name or another parishioner's whose blessing you would first seek. We have exciting times ahead of us as a church, and I rejoice that we continue to answer God's call with courage and faith.
Blessings to you as you discern your part in that work.
Peace, |

| Meditations in the Shadow of the Cross with the Rev. Natosha Reid Rice |
Sundays, March 7, 14, and 21, 9:00-9:55 a.m., on Zoom |
St. John’s Gospel has been described as a loving meditation in the shadow of the Cross. This explains, in part, Jesus’ flowing monologues as he sets his face toward Jerusalem. The cross also plays a central role in liberation theology, as God takes up the cause of the marginalized and the oppressed. Indeed, God on the cross shows us that Jesus speaks for, with, and to the crucified class, inviting us to do the same.

Session 3: Lament and Racial Reconciliation with Archdeacon Janet Tidwell
We often try to seek peace and find solutions to problems with our own power, but lament invites God to intervene and deepens our dependence on God to help mend the brokenness of racism. Using Scripture and other resources, we'll discuss ways in which lament can bring us closer to racial reconciliation.

Sustain What Matters Most to You
Consider making a planned gift to All Saints’ today. Planned gifts—made from your estate plans—assure a strong church for the future. Over 200 members of All Saints’ have joined the Cornerstone Society by declaring they have included the church in their will or named the church as a beneficiary of an insurance policy or IRA.
Where does the money go? Into the All Saints’ Endowment Fund where a portion of the annual earnings pay for many of the church’s community ministries and special worship and music programs.
Giving is what sustains All Saints’ wonderful work in the world.
Haven’t made your 2021 pledge yet? There is still time! |
