Dear saints,

Next week - Tuesday, at 7:00pm in Ellis Hall - we will host a number of sister churches in our part of the Diocese of Atlanta for a book study, gathering around tables to talk over a couple of chapters of Catherine Meeks' new book, 'The Night is Long but Light Comes in the Morning: Meditations for Racial Healing'. As I have encouraged people to attend the monthly series, I have named my hope: that people might find a welcome table open for them, that they might be encouraged on their journey, and that they might receive what they hear as a gift. In many ways, these could be hopes I might have for much of our life at All Saints'. Indeed, it is a rare thing these days to find a place where people of all sorts can embrace one another as they are. Let us not forget how important the gift of that sort of community is.

Before this Tuesday, over the weekend we will bid farewell to Naomi Tutu for a few months as she heads over to South Africa to be with her family as together they give thanks for her father's life, away from the spotlight of media and national attention. She will be back with us in early March. If you were in the room last Sunday during the forum with Natosha and Naomi, you will have heard Naomi describe her time at All Saints' thus far as healing. I cannot tell you how deeply glad I was to hear that.

Healing in community is possible - possible because of how we choose to live together. Thanks be to God that this community is deep and wide enough to give healing the space it needs to occur. I've no doubt the world needs healing places like this. I know I do.

So, wherever you are on your healing journey, always be assured, you are welcome here.

Peace,

Welcome to our new Communications Director

We are delighted to share that starting in the new year, Andi Dixon will be joining the staff as our new Communications Director. Andi was born in Atlanta and attended college at Emory University, where she received a B.A. in Political Science. Andi holds an M.A. in Oral History from Columbia University and is completing a Ph.D in Communications, also at Columbia University. Prior to coming to All Saints, Andi worked in public radio and television at Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) and at This American Life. Following this, Andi took on social media management roles, her last being at the Ira A. Lipman Center for Civil and Human Rights at Columbia University. In her spare time, Andi loves watching films, long nature walks and cultivating community. Please do join me in welcoming Andi onto our staff.
