Dear saints, This weekend we celebrate Refugee Ministries Sunday at All Saints' traditionally celebrated on the Sunday closest to World Refugee Day. According to the UNHCR there are currently over 26 million refugees in the world today, the highest number on record. The total number of people in the world who have been forced to flee their homes is closer to 84 million, more than the population of the entire western half of our country. It's staggering and heartbreaking and all too easy to feel like the scale of the crisis is just too enormous for us to be able to do much of anything about. Most of the time, though, church is one-by-one movement. Your life has the opening to love another life. That's the daily choice for any follower of Jesus. Through the course of the past 30-plus years of refugee ministries, the Jesus followers of All Saints' have been loving other human lives one by one and the impact has been deep and profound. Never underestimate the difference one life can make in another's. It is often the only thing that can. So let us give thanks for the gifts of God that we all have come to know through these decades of friendship with those who first came here, and who still arrive here, as refugees. And for those of you who have given yourself to this ministry, thank you for making your one life count in this particular and wondrous way.
Peace, |

Stump the Organist
Every Sunday of the Summer (10:00 a.m. service only)
Come to church a little early and play Stump the Organist! Beginning Sunday, May 29, we will try something new at our 10 am service. At 9:50 we will open up the floor to your hymn requests, singing as many as we can until the start of the service. Come prepared to call out the number of your favorite hymn and see if you can "stump the organist." |

Walk the Labyrinth
Sunday, July 10, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m., Kennedy Courtyard
Labyrinths are beautiful ancient designs found worldwide, symbolizing pilgrimage journeys, a path to God and the Divine. The labyrinth pattern on the 25-foot portable canvas is a small adaptation of the famous 13th century stone labyrinth embedded in the floor of the Chartes Cathedral in France. The labyrinth walks take place in Kennedy Courtyard (rain location: Ellis Hall) and are accompanied by live music. When planning your visit, please allow approximately 20 minutes for your walk. |

Giving: Give a Gift to Honor or Remember a Loved One
Did you know you can give a gift to All Saints' in honor of a recent graduate (or a new couple, birth, baptism, etc.)? The average gift is $25. Send a gift and mark it "Memorials and Gifts" fund. Or click this giving link. The church will send your honoree a note acknowledging the gift and will list their names in the All Saints' Day bulletin in November. What a great way to lift someone up and support All Saints', too. What does the church use these gifts for? The Memorials and Gifts Fund supplies needed items for our worship life. Recent examples are: choir robes, clergy vestments, communion kits, re-covering the library chairs, and a seasonal banner for the procession. It is much needed and always appreciated here. Thank you!
Special thanks to Charlie Boyd and the Memorials and Gifts Committee: Patrick Becker, Edgar Callaway, Winifred Davis, Wayne Keith, Nixon Lowe, and Leila Pratt.

Sunday, July 10, 11:00 a.m., Ellis Hall
Beloved Atlanta actor Brenda Bynum returns to All Saints’ with her stirring, one-woman presentation of the life and work of Lillian Smith, the courageous Southern author who devoted her life to racial justice. Smith’s writings called out her fellow White Southerners for racist attitudes and complacency, a “pathology” that damaged Whites and Blacks alike. Her example and Brenda Bynum’s art will make for an unforgettable hour in Ellis Hall on Sunday, July 10, following the 10:00 a.m. service. |
