 A Note From the Rector
Dear saints,
Is it possible to imagine a weekend fuller than the one we are about to enter? Not only are we collectively going a little crazy on the edge of a presidential election, with all of the unknowns that lie beyond this Tuesday, but this Sunday we will mark our patronal festival of All Saints'. During the service we will give thanks to God for your tremendous generosity as a parish, blessing the pledges of this year's canvass. We will pray with tender care with those who remember loved ones who have gone on to glory. We will enjoy a feast of gorgeous music. And we will hear the invitation to remain steadfast in our love and service to all sorts of saints, known here as parishioners and not yet known in this city around us.
Wherever you will be this weekend, I give thanks that you are among the saints of this church and for all that we share in our life together.
Peace,
|
This week our final video features vestry member, Sydney Cleland, "I love this idea of lifting. I picture hands supporting and lifting others. I picture open hands that both offer and release gifts to this church and to the wider community in need. We have a truly remarkable church that has been able to do so much during this pandemic. Show your support for our practice of lifting by making your pledge today."
Thank you!
Danny and Louisa Johnson

Walking the Labyrinth at All Saints' Sundays, 6:00-6:45 p.m., Kennedy Courtyard The Labyrinth Walk is a new All Saints' ministry that uses the church's canvas labyrinth, stretched in the Kennedy Courtyard, to create an open-air contemplative space and offer people the prayerful experience of walking a winding meditative path. The All Saints' labyrinth is imprinted with the image of the labyrinth laid into the pilgrimage Cathedral of Chartres France around 1200, during the time of the Crusades. The ritual of reflective walking can be viewed as a metaphor for the twisting path of one's life with its blind turns, which must be encountered one step at time. Also, in this COVID period and especially on All Saints Day, the labyrinth offers a sacred container able to hold one's prayers of loss, joy, and thanksgiving. The All Saints' labyrinth will continue to be available for up to 15 parishioners in the Kennedy Courtyard on Sunday evenings through November 22. All participants must follow our COVID-19 protocols and register online. Clergy or staff host these gatherings, along with trained labyrinth facilitators, and there is live music played by a guest musician (hammered dulcimer this Sunday, November 1). Please click here to register.
