Helpful Tips for Online Worship

During the global pandemic our campus and church buildings might be closed, but we are actively worshiping, studying, and being the church together online. Below you’ll find some helpful tips for joining us online:

Sunday Morning Worship

We use two video platforms to broadcast our Sunday morning worship service: Vimeo and Facebook.

If you’d like to watch the video alongside members of our community, we recommend that you join us on Facebook on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. ET.

Here’s how to join if you’re using Facebook on a web browser:

  1. Visit our Facebook page
  2. Select the “Live” tab on the left hand side of the page
  3. Look for that Sunday’s worship service video
  4. Click the video window to join

Here’s how to join if you’re using Facebook on a mobile application (iPhone or iPad):

  1. Visit our Facebook page
  2. Select the “Live” tab
  3. Look for that Sunday’s worship service video
  4. Click the video window to join

On Facebook, you can also watch the worship video “on demand” (whenever you’d like) any time after the service has aired. Visit our Facebook page, navigate to “Videos,” and select that Sunday’s worship video. To watch past Sunday worship services, please click here >>

If you do not have a Facebook account, we recommend watching the service on Vimeo. The video will appear as the first video on our Vimeo homepage a few minutes before 10:00 a.m. each Sunday morning.

Note: If you’d like to watch on Facebook without an account, you can still do so! You’ll probably have to click “Not Now” a few times if Facebook prompts you to create an account.

Other Helpful Tips:

  1. We recommend downloading and printing out the bulletin ahead of time, opening it in another browser window, or viewing it on another device to make it easy to follow along during the service. We share the link to the bulletin in our Sunday morning email at 7:15 a.m. ET, on this page of our website, and in the caption/ description of the video. (If you would like to subscribe to our email list, please click here.)
  2. If the Facebook live broadcast gets interrupted or there is a glitch, please head over to Vimeo to see if that works better.
  3. In the event that the live broadcast drops on both video platforms, please know that we are recording the service and will post the recording as soon as we’re able.

Online Formation Classes

Most of our formation classes for all ages (adults, young adults, youth, and children) take place on Zoom. Zoom is a free-to-use tool that allows users to meet online, with or without video. You can join a Zoom meeting from a desktop computer, a laptop, a tablet, or your smartphone. If you do not have access to the internet, you can still join a meeting (without video) from a landline phone or other cell phone.

For more information, visit the Zoom Help Center, which has helpful videos and tutorials. Here is another helpful tutorial.

For the safety and privacy of our community, we’re no longer making the Meeting IDs of our Zoom meetings public. Please email the contact person for each meeting to obtain the Zoom Meeting ID and password (and phone number, if applicable).
