A Note From the Rector

Dear saints,

T his weekend I invite you to give thanks for high school seniors. While there is no doubt that these were not the memories these seniors had planned on making together, the class of 2020's ingenuity in adapting to these challenging times offers inspiration for the rest of us. This Sunday, we will hear some of our All Saints' seniors preach, and with their families we will bid farewell to the days of their youth that they have spent among the saints of Midtown. Let us pray for all high school seniors this weekend. Pray for our Senior Sunday preachers, and for their cohort of fellow seniors at All Saints'. Pray for their teachers and families. And pray for their futures, that as uncertain as the road ahead looks, we know that we will travel upon it together.

Praise God for the hope and audacity of youth!

Peace,

Help Mang Bor Cin Attend Georgia Tech and Fulfill Her Dream to Become a Doctor

Mang Bor Cin is the oldest daughter from the Ceu Hu/Sui Ei family from Myanmar, one of our refugee resettlement families who arrived in October 2016. With the steadfast love of her parents (who themselves never got to attend school) and the encouragement and prayers of many in our church, Bor Cin is graduating next month from Clarkston High with a 3.9 GPA in a demanding course load. She has been accepted to her dream school, Georgia Tech, where she plans to become a neurologist and provide care in underserved communities.

Despite receiving a HOPE scholarship, a Pell Grant, and federal loans, her package at Georgia Tech has still come up $10,000/year short, far more than she can make up by working during school. She will be the first in her family to attend college and she and her family would enormously appreciate any support you can give. If you'd like to donate, please click here and in the drop down menu where it allows you to designate a ministry please choose "Ref Min College Fund."

Thank you so much for helping a very talented young woman who has overcome so many obstacles to achieve her dream.

For more information, contact Louisa Merchant at  louisam@allsaintsatlanta.org.

Giving in the Time of Coronavirus

Suddenly, the world of giving to non-profit organizations is in a state of flux like everything else. Corporations, foundations and individuals are focusing on important aid to healthcare causes. Arts groups and performance venues are struggling to retain donors while museum and theatre doors remain locked.

Giving to churches, however, remains steady. We continue to offer care for those in need around us and encourage our community with worship and prayer.

Please give to All Saints' as you are able. Keep up with your pledge payments and try this: Text allsaintsatlanta to 73256 to leave $10 in our virtual offering plate each week.

With thanks from a grateful parish, Debbie Wilson, Chair of the Stewardship Committee, dwilson@swfllp.com. Give online at allsaintsatlanta.org/giving or text Allsaintsatlanta to 73256.

As many of us have more time to reach out to each other (from home), the children of All Saints' decided to do their very own history project. They would love to interview saints of all ages about how you got to All Saints', your favorite memories here, how you've handled difficult times in life, you favorite Bible verse, etc. We can do these interviews by snail mail, email, phone, FaceTime, or Skype. If you are interested in participating, please send your name, address, email, and phone number to Kathy Roberts at kroberts@allsaintsatlanta.org. She will pair you with a pen pal and you can talk about how you'd like to do the interview. The kids will send a preview of their questions ahead of time so that you have time to prepare!
