Clothing Children with Dignity

Threads is a volunteer ministry driven by a desire to provide children in need with clean, well-fitting clothes and footwear. Located in Tate Hall on the All Saints’ campus, Threads serves families referred by intown social service agencies. Ages served range from birth to fifth grade.

Our clients’ experience is similar to shopping in a boutique. With the help of parish volunteers, we clothe children with dignity by giving each client a choice of attractive clothing for each child referred. Threads has clothed over 6,000 children since it opened in 2004.

Threads is completely staffed by parish volunteers. Manager’s salary and overhead are contributed by All Saints’ Episcopal Church so that 100% of additional financial contributions and donations of new or gently used clothing goes directly to children who need it most.

You Can Help!

  • Make a donation of new or gently used clothing. Items most needed are:
    • new tennis shoes
    • new socks
    • new underwear
  • Make a financial contribution
  • Throw a party for Threads:
    • Childrens’ birthday parties; bring new clothing or shoes instead of a traditional present
    • Other events; let a donation to Threads be the “ticket” to your next event
  • Collect toiletries for Threads when you travel on business or put a collection box in your office.
