All Saints' Lent from Home Drive-Through

Lower Parking Deck at All Saints' (off of Spring Street)

Ash Wednesday (February 17) marks the beginning of Lent, a solemn season of prayer, fasting (giving something up), and reflection as we prepare for Easter. This year, everyone is invited to pick up Lenten supplies during this drive-through event on Sunday, February 14 to help add extra meaning to this season while we're not able to worship together in person.

Pick Up Ashes for Ash Wednesday

During the Ash Wednesday worship service, the clergy usually mark the sign of the cross on our foreheads using ashes from last year’s palms. On the Sunday before Ash Wednesday,  we'll have ashes available for you to take home to use during our Ash Wednesday worship service online. We think it could be a powerful moment for saints gathered online to mark the sign of the cross on each other or on your own foreheads. 

"Lent in a Bag"

In addition to ashes, we'll also have "Lent in a Bag" with prayers, practices, symbols, and daily wonderings to do with your whole family during Lent. Everything you will need is included to take an intentional walk through Lent and into Holy Week. If you'd like one of these bags, please indicate that on the registration form for this event.

Praying in Color

As we enter into this season of contemplation, we're also encouraging everyone to try the practice of coloring as a different way to pray and meditate. You can select one of four coloring books for all ages that contain scripture passages, inspiring words, and even guidance on praying for others. All coloring books are free with a limit of two per household. You can pick up your coloring book(s) during this drive-through event or we can mail them to you.

Logistics

You are welcome to come through the drive-through at any time between 12:00-1:30 p.m. in the Lower Parking Deck at All Saints' (off of Spring Street). To help with the flow of traffic, we suggest the following schedule:

• 12:00-12:30 p.m.: Last names A-I
• 12:30-1:00 p.m.: Last names J-Q
• 1:00-1:30 p.m.: Last names R-Z

Please register by Friday, February 12 so that we can prepare enough supplies for everyone.
