 A Note From the Rector
Dear saints,
I'm going to let you into a secret, so don't tell too many people...Andy Barnett, one of our esteemed associate rectors, loves spreadsheets. He loves them so much that if you were looking for a wedding gift to celebrate his newly married life with Hannah, a lifetime subscription to Microsoft Excel might just make his year. Because the shadow sides of human nature can often have a silver lining, All Saints' has definitely been the winner with regards to Andy's veritable obsession with order, and we can all applaud the wonderful new vitality and organization that he has brought to our adult formation ministries, which begin this weekend. And what a beginning it will be: staff led series by Natosha Reid Rice, and by the dynamic duo, Louisa Merchant and Lori Guarisco. Coming up will be a look back in time with fondness and great admiration at the late and beloved saint, Connie Curry, led by Bob Miller, and an examination of the Minister's Manifesto led by Ethel Ware Carter. And this Sunday, the Micah Project will welcome Ruby Sales, whose life was saved at 17 years old in 1965, when Episcopal seminarian, Johnathan Daniels, stood in her way and took the bullet that was intended for her. What an incredibly rich array of opportunities there are for us to go on our sacred journeys, and what a gift it is to have such talented and dedicated leaders in our midst like Andy, Sarah, and Zack. I pray that you will find something to light your fire this Fall. There is more to come - Andy has a spreadsheet for each of us on staff - so know we are all keeping on our toes!
May we learn, and grow, and be changed, together.
Peace,

Share a Meal with the Men of Covenant Community
(on Zoom)
Mondays, August 31, September 7, and September 21

For the foreseeable future, dinner can be dropped off at CCI's front door on Spring Street any time during the day. After dinner the men would very much like to do a Zoom meeting with the parishioner(s) so that everyone can get together online. Please click here to inquire about providing a meal and Barbara Blender will be in touch to help coordinate.

General
Congratulations to Andy and Hannah!
We are thrilled to congratulate the Rev. Dr. Andrew K. Barnett and Hannah Hastings on their wedding which took place on their front porch in Atlanta on August 8. Several hundred people joined join via Zoom, and they're pleased to share the bulletin here. It's hard to get married in a pandemic, but they were determined! Because a zoom wedding doesn't hold legal weight, they also held a legal ceremony on a mountaintop at sunrise near Asheville, and received a lovely blessing at the Cathedral in Asheville. We are pleased to offer our prayers for their marriage and our congratulations on this momentous occasion.
