 Rector
A Note From the Rector

Dear Saints,

What a gift it is to be in ministry alongside the saints of Midtown at this time in our life together! No doubt we have challenges, and for some of us those challenges are personal and significant as we weather the storm that is passing over us with the coronavirus and all that it means for our lives. Yet, in spite of the barriers and the separation and the concern for the future, we are being more and more the church God calls us to be, and I am humbled and deeply thankful for that. Covenant Community continues to transform lives and twice a week now dinners arrive to our men on the block from Deborah VanTrece's Twisted Soul Cookhouse, the restaurant that usually caters our Wednesday Night Suppers. Networks of support - from Sunday school teachers to pastoral care note writers - are emerging and reaching out across cyberspace. Groceries are being delivered, phone calls are being made, and we are working it every which way we can to be the church we know and love to be. And in the midst of all of this the staff is doing truly remarkable work - creative, dedicated, loving - and I am immensely proud of all that they are doing.

As we continue to be as fully operational as a church as we can, I would like to warmly invite you to continue offering your financial pledges of support to All Saints' so that we can remain steady and true through the course of this crisis. Giving to All Saints' is as easy as ever: you can give online here, or you can just write a good old fashioned check and mail it in to the church where we continue to receive mail.

As you can imagine there are those among us who have been particularly affected by the economic impact of the coronavirus, and so I also invite you, if you are able, to offer an additional gift to the Rector's Discretionary Fund, which will allow me to extend financial support to others in need.

We are family in this parish, and we give thanks for that. My prayers remain with you all, wherever you are and however you are on your journey at this time. As Paul writes to the church in Corinth, "Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!". I thank God for you.

Peace,

Worship with Us Online
We are so glad that we have been able to continue to be a community at worship online. This week Bishop Wright directed all clergy to remain online for worship and not in-person until May 24th, a couple of weeks longer than our own schedule of May 10th. Accordingly, our plan is to continue to broadcast a Sunday service each week at 10:00 a.m. Please do keep on commenting on the feed. A member of staff will respond to your comments live during the service, including your prayer requests, however, following the Bishop's directive and the executive order issued by the Mayor of Atlanta's office, we decided to pre-record all of our services from this point and broadcast them at the appointed time so that staff no longer need to come to church each Sunday to perform the service. All of our services for the coming weeks have been recorded already, so you can be assured that we are keeping our staff safe and at home at the present time.

Please join us for worship at 10:00 a.m. this Sunday:
