A Note From Zack

Dear Saints,

I recently shared at Wednesday Night Supper that my guiding metaphor for Lent comes from the inimitable Marie Kondo, author of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Kondo has taken the world (and Netflix) by storm with her mesmerizing approach to household organization. When it comes to discerning what to keep and what to toss, her method is simple:
  1. Ask, "Does it spark joy?" If not, then
  2. Thank it, and
  3. Let it go.
"Create in us clean hearts, O God, and give us the joy of your salvation!" Lent is the time for spring cleaning - inside and out.  As you sort through the clutter of your houses and hearts alike this Lent, consider: where is your stuff stifling your joy?  What might it be time to thank, or at least acknowledge, and then let go?

Think about these things, then act for those whose cupboards and closets are empty.  Fill a bag with food for MAC, serve with Refugee Ministries, or share a meal with Covenant Community. And, be sure to stop by Tate Hall this Threads Sunday (3/8) to learn and engage with the life-changing magic of Lori Guarisco and the countless volunteers committed to clothing the children of Atlanta with dignity and compassion.

For Jesus said, "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Joyfully,

Zack

Health Precautions at All Saints'

Given the widening reach of the current strain of coronavirus, and based on the protocols for public health issues we have in place at All Saints', we are encouraging the following practices:
  • If you are unwell please refrain from coming to church.
  • Alcohol gel dispensers are available for use throughout the campus, and we encourage people to use them on the way in and out of church.
  • All clergy and Eucharistic Ministers have been instructed to use alcohol gel before serving communion.
  • Communicants remain welcome to drink from a common communion cup. Persons who intinct/dip the wafer into the cup should be careful only to dip the end of the wafer in the wine keeping fingertips clear.
  • At the passing of the Peace, parishioners are welcome to make a sign of peace rather than shake hands if they prefer to do so.
We are continuing to monitor CDC and Georgia Health Department communications regarding best practices and will continue to communicate with the parish on an ongoing basis.

 Giving
Giving

Where will your philanthropic journey take you?
Everyone has a different beginning and a different finish line for planned giving. How can we make the most impact? How can we leave a legacy? The All Saints' Cornerstone Society is made up of parishioners and friends of All Saints' who have decided to designate a gift to the church in their estate plans. The amount does not matter; the gifts can grow over time. These gifts, which fund our endowment, renew and recharge a vibrant, active parish like All Saints'. Consider making a planned gift today. If you have questions, please contact Bert Clark, Chair of All Saints' Planned Giving, at bert@bertclark.com.
