 Rector
A Note From the Rector

Dear Saints,

Is there any better place to immerse yourself at All Saints' as a new staff member than at the deep end? This Sunday we will welcome the Rev. Dr. Andy Barnett, our new Associate Rector for Worship and Adult Formation, at the 'Pet Blessing' service in Ellis Hall. Nothing like a few bearded dragons and a pet weasel to get the blood flowing - hopefully not literally. In many ways, there is something good about beginning with a little bit of holy chaos, not least of which is because it is in the midst of life's calms and storms that we find the God who loves us just the same - both when we have it all together and when we don't. Turns out that the world needs exactly that sort of honesty too. From the cries of children for us to pay attention to global warming to the crises of government on both sides of the pond, we need a God who can meet us in the midst of things, not above but squarely within the fray. So, come on over to the block in Midtown this weekend. Bring a furry or scaly friend if you have one, receive and give a blessing, and the rest will be up to the Holy Spirit!

Peace,
