A Note From the Rector

Dear Saints,

What a difference a week makes! It is hard to believe that it is just seven days since I sent you all the news that we would be going into our new mode of being. It has been all that I have thought about and done for the past seven days. I know I am not alone - in so many ways. It has been such a lift for us as a staff to see your comments and to receive your emails and other messages over these past several days. As odd as it is as a priest to stare into a camera and lead you all in worship, your word back to us has sustained us and helped us feel connected to this parish which we so love. There is much that lies before us, yet to know we will travel this road together is a profound gift. Go with God, dear saints, and you'll see us even if we can't see you, Sunday.

Peace,

Wednesday Night Story Time with Kathy
Wednesday, March 25, 5:00-5:30 p.m. Facebook Live
Parents often talk about the "Bewitching Hour" that can happen around 5:00 p.m., when kids are getting hungry, parents are trying to fix dinner, and everything seems to ready to explode! On Wednesday nights during this time, let the kids hang with Kathy on Facebook. She will do a live video to share one of her favorite books and she might even think of a fun craft or coloring sheet to do and send that out ahead of time. If you have a book that you would like request, send her an email and she will see if she has that book at home. Also, please let her know if your child had a birthday last week or has one coming up this week so we can celebrate together online.  For more information, contact Kathy Roberts at kroberts@allsaintsatlanta.org.

An Update from Midtown Assistance Center (MAC)
MAC is temporarily closed until further notice and they are not accepting donations right now. Instead, they are working remotely to provide financial assistance to their clients. If you know someone in need of assistance, please email themacatlanta@gmail.com. We as a church will put our collections for MAC on hold and wait until they they are back back in the office and distributing (they will really need our donations then). At this time, the Church of the Redeemer is providing meals Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.. They are located at 731 Peachtree Street, NE. Open Hands Atlanta and Meals on Wheels are also working to distribute meals as best to their ability. For more information, contact Jill Gossett at jgossett@allsaintsatlanta.org.

An Update from Covenant Community
Deborah Van Trece, the amazing chef who prepares our Wednesday Night Suppers (and other church events), has started making dinner twice a week for the 18 people living at Covenant Community during this time of social distancing. Johnathan Davis, Executive Director of Covenant Community is beyond thrilled! Deborah makes the meals and then drops them off at the front door of Covenant Community. They have not met yet, but will one day! It is a win-win situation since we're not able to enjoy Deborah's cooking while the church is temporarily closed.  For more information, contact Jill Gossett at jgossett@allsaintsatlanta.org.
