A Note From the Rector
Dear Saints,
This Sunday morning I leave with my family for a three-week adventure aside a crater lake in Guatemala. Combining some continuing education time and vacation, we will all be learning Spanish, staying with a local family in their home, and immersing ourselves in another world for a brief while. My personal aim is to become truly fluent in at least five Spanish words by my return. My syntax might stumble but my heart is open and excited to soak it all in. In a way, our Central American homestay serves as a mini-parable for the Christian life: that through the grace of God we might find our lives within the lives of others. I pray, as your own summer plans take you near and far, that you will find your life expanded and enriched by the loves and longings of others. May we each find Christ alive in the world around us. Blessings for your journeying, and see you back on the block on Sunday July 21st.

Jesus on the Front Page
Sundays, 9:00-9:55 a.m., P307, Parish House
Facilitator: Charlie Cork
Join this ongoing discussion of the news of the day and how we are called as Christians to respond in the public arena, in our private lives and in our prayers. For the next three weeks, Charlie Cork will take us back to the first couple of centuries C.E. The front page story might be from the year 135, when Roman armies under the command of Julius Severus retook Jerusalem and sacked it, or the year 122, when the Roman emperor Hadrian ordered the construction of a 70-mile defensive wall during a visit to Britain.
For more information, contact Ethel Ware Carter at ethelware@aol.com.
