Warrior Church: Faith and Fitness in the City

All Saints’ is partnering with the men of Covenant Community, professional coach Casey Castleberry, and the Mythos 150 gym in West Midtown to offer a 5-week Warrior Church series that combines fitness with faith in a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Each Saturday, we’ll enjoy a 45-minute workout with time for prayer, reflection, and meditation led by The Rev. Zack Nyein and seminarian Katie Roll. All skills levels are welcome, teenagers and up! The suggested contribution is $5 per session or $20 for all five and scholarships are available.

Warrior Church started in Texas as an Episcopal community with a special focus on veterans and those who have experienced emotional trauma.  Through physical activity and an open spiritual community, we hope to inspire deeper connection with God in an environment of healing, acceptance, and growth.  Learn more at warriorchurches.com

Frequently Asked Questions:

I haven’t worked out in years (or ever)!  Is this for me?

We welcome and encourage all skill and experience levels. All workouts will be scalable for each individual, with an atmosphere of positivity and support.

What kind of exercises will we be engaging?

There will be a mix of basic level strength training, cardio, flexibility, and endurance training over the course of the five weeks. Coach Casey is a functional fitness instructor, geared towards training people for optimal daily living.

What if I can’t attend every session?

Totally okay!  We are going on a journey together over the course of the five weeks, so we think you’ll get the most out of it by committing to attend as many as you can.  However, feel free to simply sign up and come with you can. If you’re on the fence, we encourage you to come to the first session and decide if it’s for you.

I am not Christian or I am not a member of All Saints’. Can I still come?

Absolutely!  We welcome people of all faith backgrounds to participate and engage at whatever level they desire.  No one will be forced to pray or do anything they do not want. Friends and non-members of All Saints’ are invited!

What should I wear?

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.  Tennis shoes are a must!

Are there showers?

Mythos 150 does not have shower facilities, so please plan accordingly with your day!
