Holy Week at Home

Dear Saints,

As we enter this Holy Week, I wanted to provide an update on God’s worship at All Saints’, and offer an invitation to pray with us in the days to come.

I warmly invite you to pray with us every day. We offer Noonday Prayer from clergy households (Monday through Thursday), a “hymn from home” (Monday through Saturday), formation for all ages on Sundays and Wednesdays, and a Sunday Eucharist at 10:00 a.m., followed by a livestreamed “Coffee with the Clergy.” Holy Week worship will include Maundy Thursday at 5:00 p.m., Good Friday at noon, Holy Saturday at 5:00 p.m., and a festive Easter Day Eucharist at 10:00 a.m.

We are entering the holiest week of the church year, and it will probably feel strange to worship from home. You might consider ways to create a reverent space in your home, perhaps with candles, lighting, and comfortable seating. Then for each of the principal services, there are ways for you to worship from home, which you can find described below.

All of our worship this Holy Week comes with continued prayers, and with great anticipation for the day when we can all pray in the church, together. When that day comes, I imagine that the peace will last for about ten minutes. Keep the faith!

Sincerely,

Andy

Worship with us Online

Everyone is invited to join our online services on our Facebook page (facebook.com/AllSaintsATL) or on Vimeo (vimeo.com/allsaintsatlanta). If you have questions about how to worship with us online, please contact Jocelyn Cassada at jcassada@allsaintsatlanta.org.

Palm Sunday

Sunday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m.

Consider budding branches, flowers, or some other sign of hope and renewal to wave with songs of “Hosanna!” We will offer Holy Eucharist online, pre-recorded from the church. Download the bulletin >>

Noonday Prayer

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 12:05 p.m.

Take a mid-day break and join our clergy for a five minute prayer service.

Maundy Thursday

Thursday, April 9 at 5:00 p.m.

You may wish to wash the feet of those in your household, or fix a special dinner for yourself to observe Jesus’ last supper. As we recall the night before Jesus’ death, Andy will offer a meditation about foot-washing and Jesus’ new commandment “That you love one another, as I have loved you.”

Good Friday

Friday, April 10 at 12:00 p.m. (noon)

This holiest of Fridays reveals God’s choice to suffer with us. To mark Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice of love you are invited to collect a cross you may have at home and to gather favorite writing materials for personal reflection, joining Sarah for an interactive meditation on the question “what makes this Friday good?”

Easter Vigil

Saturday, April 11, 5:00 p.m.

Kindle a fire or light a candle as we celebrate the light of Christ that conquers death and darkness. Zack will offer a meditation and vigil.

Easter Sunday

Sunday, April 12, 10:00 a.m.

Make a flowered cross (see below), wear your Easter best, and gather with us online as we proclaim that Christ is risen, Alleluia!

We also have Easter Sunday Children’s Church at 8:15 a.m. with Mrs. Kimmell and Mrs. Kathy! Watch the recording here: Facebook | Vimeo
