A Note From the Rector
Dear Saints,
Happy New Year! What a wonderful gift it is to look forward to another full year of ministry together at All Saints'. 2019 promises to be an exciting year for All Saints' in so many ways. This Sunday on the Feast of the Epiphany we will begin a new era in music-making as Dr. Kirk Rich begins his tenure as the Director of Music in our parish. As a feast day that reminds us each of our vocation to bring our gifts to the service of Christ, it is fitting that we make this new beginning at this time. I look forward with excitement and anticipation at all that we will share as a church through the gift of music. I am still on vacation this weekend and will look forward to being back among you the week following Sunday.
Peace,

SOAP Up (Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution) Service Day
Saturday, January 26, 2019, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.,
Ellis Hall, Parish House
We're partnering with the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta's Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Commission to help victims before the Super Bowl since trafficking is known to increase around large events. Atlanta is one of the top domestic minor sex trafficking hubs in the country. The underground sex economy here is estimated to be worth approximately $290 million year, with traffickers making an average of $33,000 per week. During SOAP Up, we will label soap bars with the national trafficking hotline, become trained on the signs of trafficking, put together educational packets for hotels, and deliver the soap bars and packets to the hotels surrounding Mercedes Benz Stadium. Why soap? The hotel bathroom is one of the few places victims are alone and therefore one of the best chances to help them. Learn more and register for the event online at
tinyurl.com/supersoap2018.
For more information, contact The Rev. Kim Jackson at kjackson@allsaintsatlanta.org.
