Jack Norton
Senior Warden
All Saints' Member since 2006
Recent parish activities include:
I have (tried to) help teach 4th and 5th grade Sunday school for the last three and some change years, though mostly I’m reminded that I’m supposed to be helping teach the class and not in the class. We cohosted Kanuga last year and are on tap to Host Kanuga this year (and found out after the fact that it will be the 40th anniversary of All Saints’ going to Kanuga! - Sign up y’all!) I also have spent the last year with the All Saints’ Round Table group. On the rare Saturday morning without sports or camping trips, I run (walk) with the All Saints’ running group. In 2019, my youngest son played Baby Jesus in the Christmas pageant in 2019 and I have made lifelong friends with other parents we have met through choir and the children’s program.
Strengths and skills I can offer the vestry:
I hope to use my knowledge of the children’s programs to help them grow and develop and extend to the youth programs. I serve as a technical consultant and have managed large projects and teams at companies in the Atlanta area and hope to extend my ability to build relationships in service to this parish.
Jack would also like you to know:
My husband, Clifton Askew, and I were married by Noelle in 2008 and she baptized both our children. Then she left!
We have two boys in 4th and 6th grade and they are absolutely amazing and the complete center of our world. Nothing in life is perfect, but the four of us around a dinner table is pretty close.
I am an Assistant Scoutmaster at Troop 197 and the Cub Scout Pack leader at Pack 212. I serve on the Board of Trustees at the Trinity School in Atlanta.
If I had more time, I’d read more fiction and replace more plants in my yard with native plants.
