Youth Formation

Children at All Saints’ are formed in the Christian faith through the stories of the Bible. When these young people reach the sixth grade, we invite them to participate to give them opportunities to own the faith for themselves and to make a decision about their own way of life.

Choosing to own one’s faith is the core guiding principle of our youth ministry. If Jesus is the way of life, how do you choose to live?

The invitation to exploring one’s own faith and commitment to follow Jesus begins on Sunday morning. We invite families to worship together and continue to be formed in the faith at Sunday school. In addition to Sunday morning, we offer other opportunities for fellowship, community building, formation, music, Sunday evening programs, acolytes, pilgrimage and mission.

The Role of Parents in Youth Formation

Parents are the primary spiritual guides and ministers of their children, the primary teachers and preservers of our faith. Through daily family prayers, family dinners, conversations about faith, and worshiping as a family, children adopt their parents’ hope, faith, understanding of God, and relationship with the Church. Nurturing, supporting, and educating parents is a fundamental part of youth ministry. Throughout the year, there will be opportunities for discussion and interaction at Sunday School and other events.
