The Journey Begins
Our three and four year olds learn the foundational stories of our faith at an age appropriate level. The great stories of the Bible are introduced to them in short lessons with activities and songs.
This learning is reinforced by the experience of Little Saints Church where the same story is used as in the classes within the context of a simple, liturgical experience. Together these lessons begin to establish a foundation of learning that will be built upon throughout the Children’s Formation process. Little Saints Church and the Sunday School lessons are presented to the children in the nursery area during the 9 a.m. celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
Red Aprons
The Red Aprons are mostly volunteers who help in the nursery classrooms (infants through three year olds) and also as greeters in the lobby of the Pritchett Center.
Pre-Schoolers: Three and Four Year-Olds
Sunday School classes are developed and scheduled to give each age group the best opportunity to learn and remember the stories presented. Children aged 3–4 years will be introduced to a new story each week from August to May. Included in each Sunday’s bulletin is a note to parents reminding them of the day’s story and its corresponding Bible verses.
The stories presented in our Threes and Fours Sunday School curriculum include:
- Creation
- Adam and Eve
- Noah
- Abraham and Sarah
- Joseph and His Brothers
- Baby Moses
- The Exodus
- The Ten Commandments

Rising Kindergarten Instruction Class
Each year in the spring a series of classes are offered for the children who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall and their parents to explore the practices, meaning and symbols of the Eucharist. This class is held during the Sunday School hour between the services, often during the Easter season. Watch the bulletin for the specific dates of this offering.
Christmas Pageant
Each Advent season our children are invited to participate in the pageant, held during a 9:00 Sunday morning service. The pageant is simple with children wearing home made costumes or costumes provided by the church. The youngest of our children are welcome to be a shepherd, an angel or one of God’s creatures gathered beside the manger.
